What is Acidity & GERD?
Acidity happens when stomach acid irritates the food pipe or stomach lining, causing burning in the chest, sour belching, nausea or a bitter taste. When it happens often it is called GERD (gastro-oesophageal reflux disease) and can damage the food pipe over time.
Antacids give quick relief but do not change why the acid keeps rising. Our Vaidyas look at your meal timing, stress, sleep and food habits, then prescribe cooling, digestion-correcting medicines so that you need less and less symptomatic medication.
The Ayurvedic view — Amlapitta
Amlapitta is caused by aggravated Pitta that becomes sour (Amla) and excessive due to irregular meals, spicy and fermented food, and stress. The digestive fire becomes disturbed and produces Ama, which further sours the stomach contents. Treatment cools Pitta and restores balanced Agni.

Stages of Acidity & GERD & How Your Medicine Changes
We do not give every Acidity & GERD patient the same medicine. Your formulation, dose and therapies depend on the stage of the disease:
Occasional
Heartburn a few times a month, usually after heavy or spicy meals.
Diet and routine correction with a short course of Pitta-calming churna.
Frequent / Chronic
Symptoms several times a week; regular antacid use.
Internal medicines such as Avipattikar and Kamdudha-type formulations, gut-healing herbs and a structured meal plan.
Complicated GERD
Long-standing reflux, difficulty swallowing, ulcers or gastritis on endoscopy.
Mucosa-healing Rasayana, Virechana where suitable, and close coordination with any ongoing medical treatment.
