What is Vitiligo?
Vitiligo causes milky-white patches where the skin loses its pigment cells (melanocytes). It can start as a single spot and stay limited, or spread to the face, hands, lips and other areas. It is not contagious and not caused by poor hygiene, but it can affect confidence deeply.
Our first goal is to stabilise the condition so that no new patches appear. Once stable, treatment focuses on encouraging pigment to return, usually starting from the edges or as small brown dots within the patch. Response depends on the area, the age of the patches and how active the disease is.
The Ayurvedic view — Shvitra
Vitiligo is described as Shvitra or Kilasa. It involves Pitta (especially Bhrajaka Pitta, which governs skin colour), impure Rakta and Meda Dhatu, and is closely linked to incompatible diet and digestive weakness. Classical treatment combines internal purification with Bakuchi-based medicines and controlled sun exposure.

This is not a diagnosis. Only a doctor can confirm your stage and the right medicine.

Stages of Vitiligo & How Your Medicine Changes
We do not give every Vitiligo patient the same medicine. Your formulation, dose and therapies depend on the stage of the disease:
Active / Spreading
New patches appearing or existing patches enlarging in the last few months.
Priority is stabilising the disease with blood-purifying and immune-balancing medicines plus strict diet.
Stable
No new patches for 6 months or more.
Repigmentation phase — internal Bakuchi formulations, medicated oils and timed morning sunlight.
Long-standing / Resistant
Old patches on lips, fingertips or joints, or white hair inside patches.
Longer course with stronger local applications and Rasayana; realistic goals are set with you at the start.
