What is High Cholesterol?

High Cholesterol – Ayurvedic treatment at Pure Aushadhi

High cholesterol means too much LDL ('bad') cholesterol or triglycerides in the blood, often with low HDL ('good') cholesterol. It usually has no symptoms but slowly narrows arteries, raising the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Our approach targets the metabolic cause — diet, weight, activity, thyroid and sugar — with herbs traditionally used for Meda (fat) metabolism. We use your lipid reports to set goals and track progress.

The Ayurvedic view — Medoroga

Ayurveda describes high lipids under Medoroga — disorders of Meda Dhatu caused by heavy, oily, sweet food, inactivity and weak Medo-Agni. Kapha accumulates and obstructs the channels (Srotas). Treatment lightens Kapha and improves fat metabolism.

Symptoms of High Cholesterol

Tick the symptoms you have. This quick self-check suggests which stage may apply to you. A Vaidya will confirm it during your free consultation.

This is not a diagnosis. Only a doctor can confirm your stage and the right medicine.

Stages of High Cholesterol & How Your Medicine Changes

We do not give every High Cholesterol patient the same medicine. Your formulation, dose and therapies depend on the stage of the disease:

1

Borderline

Signs

Slightly raised LDL or triglycerides; no other risk factors.

Our approach

Diet, activity and Kapha-reducing herbs; recheck in 3 months.

2

High

Signs

Clearly raised levels, or with diabetes, BP or fatty liver.

Our approach

Lipid-supporting formulations (Arjuna, Guggulu) with full metabolic plan.

3

Very High / Heart Risk

Signs

Very high levels, known heart disease or family history of early heart attack.

Our approach

Ayurvedic support alongside cardiologist-prescribed treatment — never as a replacement.
