What is Constipation?

Constipation – Ayurvedic treatment at Pure Aushadhi

Constipation means passing stools less than three times a week, straining, or feeling that the bowel is not fully empty. When it lasts for months it can lead to piles, fissures, bloating, headaches and low energy.

Regular use of strong laxatives can make the bowel lazier over time. We aim to restore the natural movement of the gut through diet, routine and gentle medicines that are tapered once regularity returns.

The Ayurvedic view — Vibandha

Vibandha is mainly a disorder of Apana Vata — the downward-moving energy in the colon. Dry, cold and irregular habits aggravate Vata and dry the stool, while weak digestion adds Ama. Treatment lubricates and regulates Vata.

Symptoms of Constipation

Tick the symptoms you have. This quick self-check suggests which stage may apply to you. A Vaidya will confirm it during your free consultation.

This is not a diagnosis. Only a doctor can confirm your stage and the right medicine.

Irregular stools during travel, stress or diet change.

Our approach

Routine and diet correction with mild herbal support like Triphala.

2

Chronic

Signs

Constipation for months; regular laxative use.

Our approach

Vata-regulating internal medicines, medicated ghee and a structured plan to reduce laxatives.

3

Complicated

Signs

With piles, fissures, severe bloating or IBS.

Our approach

Basti (medicated enema) therapy where suitable, plus treatment of the associated condition.
