What is Migraine & Headache?

Migraine & Headache – Ayurvedic treatment at Pure Aushadhi

Migraine is a recurring, often one-sided, throbbing headache that can last from a few hours to several days. It commonly comes with nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound, and some people see flashing lights (aura) before an attack. Common triggers include stress, skipped meals, poor sleep, hormonal changes, bright light and certain foods.

Frequent painkillers can cause rebound headaches. We focus on reducing the frequency and severity of attacks by treating the underlying imbalance and identifying your triggers.

The Ayurvedic view — Ardhavabhedaka

Migraine is described as Ardhavabhedaka — a one-sided headache caused by Vata and Pitta, sometimes with Kapha. Acidity, irregular meals, stress and sleep disturbance are common causes. Nasya (medicated nasal drops) is a classical treatment for head disorders.
