What is Piles (Haemorrhoids)?

Piles (Haemorrhoids) – Ayurvedic treatment at Pure Aushadhi

Piles (haemorrhoids) are swollen veins in and around the anus. They can cause bleeding during stools, itching, a lump, pain and discomfort while sitting. They are graded from 1 (inside, no prolapse) to 4 (outside and cannot be pushed back).

Early grades respond well to medicines, diet and routine. We focus on softening stools, reducing swelling and bleeding, and preventing recurrence. For advanced grades our Vaidyas will advise when procedures such as Kshara Sutra may be needed.

The Ayurvedic view — Arsha

Arsha is described in detail in Ayurveda. Weak digestion and constipation aggravate Apana Vata, which pushes vitiated doshas into the veins of the anal region. Dry, painful piles are Vata type, bleeding piles are Pitta type and large, itchy piles are Kapha type.

Stages of Piles (Haemorrhoids) & How Your Medicine Changes

We do not give every Piles (Haemorrhoids) patient the same medicine. Your formulation, dose and therapies depend on the stage of the disease:

1

Grade 1–2

Signs

Bleeding or discomfort; piles stay inside or go back on their own.

Our approach

Internal medicines, stool softeners, sitz bath and diet — usually manageable without procedures.

2

Grade 3

Signs

Piles come out during stool and need to be pushed back.

Our approach

Stronger internal therapy and local applications; evaluation for Kshara treatment if not responding.

3

Grade 4 / Thrombosed

Signs

Piles remain outside, are very painful or clotted.

Our approach

Urgent pain relief and referral for Kshara Sutra or surgical care, with Ayurvedic support for healing and prevention.
